"Beyond wonderful. Thank you all"

"I had a magical experience at my first AfrikaBurn! It was a powerful way to experience community and reimagine what society could look like. I have two pieces of constructive criticism. 1. It would be helpful to have more hand sanitizer available at the toilets and throughout Tankwa Town, especially in the wake of COVID. 2. I was a bit shocked by some of the homophobic and racist comments I heard and the cultural appropriation of white people in headdresses, braids, and other styles that would be considered a big no-no where I'm from. It would be amazing to have more explicit community guidelines about the language we use and the styles we wear. We should have candid conversations about power dynamics and what it means for people with racial and class privilege to wear the styles of historically marginalized and oppressed groups."

"My 4th Burn and a top contender to being my favourite ?? The Steampunk Saloon are a fabulous family to Burn with. And the chill spaces this year were kitted and decorated to the MAX! Only major complaint is it felt like nothing was being done to reprimand camps that played music well beyond the allocated hours (one camp on the Binnekring literally never stopped playing music). Finally, much better representation all-round in terms of the music, spaces and attendees. It truly felt like I was at an African celebration and I hope to see this improving in coming years."
