ABOUT

The BLUFUNRUN is a family friendly 5km and 10km fun run/walk event that starts and ends at the Blu Valley Mall. The aim of the event is to encourage fitness fun for all fitness levels.

Prizes

Two family holidays up for grabs in our lucky grand draw. There are prizes for all catergory winners. R5000 in Pick n Pay gift vouchers for the school with most participants. Goody bags for all scholars participants and lots of draw giveaways have two grand lucky draw prizes.

T-shirts

We encourage all entrants to buy and wear the BLUFUNRUN t-shirt at the event, but this is not compulsory. The t-shirt is R150 and available for purchase or order at Fitness@Blu gym at the Blu Valley Mall.

Children

Children who are 7 and above can take part in the 5km run/walk and those 14 years and above in the 10km run. Children 7 to 12 years old must be accompanied by adults.

Number collection

Get your number on the day of the event from 6h00 to 7h00.

Safety

Metro police will be on hand to see that participants run or walk in safety. A full team of emergency medics will be on hand to handle any incidents, they will patrol the routes and a medical tent will be at the finish line.

Water stations

For the 5km walk there will be one water station at the halfway mark and for the 10km run there will be two water stations. There will be water stations at the finishing.

Rules

• All entrants must be in possession of a race number, which must be worn on the front of their garments. Numbers will be issued by organizers between 6h00 and 7h00.
• Participants must keep to designated routes, as indicated.
• Marshalls and traffic officials must be obeyed at all times.
• No pets allowed.
• No cyclists, rollerblades or schooters will be permitted on the routes.
• No vehicles to drive along participants.
• Participants of 12 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
• Prams and strollers are permitted for the 5km run only.
• It is the responsibility of each participant or their parent to ensure that she/her or child is medically fit and healthy to participate in the event.
• Minimum age for 5km run is 7 years old and minimum age for 10km run is 14 years old.
• Do not litter. Dispose of satchets by using boxes provided along the route or carrying them to the finish line.
• No refunds will be entertained once ticket is bought and there are no cancellations of the event. Please see our terms and conditions.
