MCQP presents The Love Ball

The Love Ball pairs celebrity and fashion with the eccentricity of Circuit parties, festivals, the traditional masked-ball culture with the testosterone-driven love of the game.The Love Ball is an inclusive gathering of all types and teams of people, to celebrate imagination, foster acceptance, promote love and to score.

The hosting of a ball is no simple recipe; it’s multi-faceted and potent. There’s the runway, the esteemed referees and all its players - the performers. No matter which team you bat for.

The Love Ball has six main performance areas in play: Head to Toe, Hair Spectacular, Beauty and Face, Move to the Groove, Dressing Room, and The Winners Podium. Of course, the ball would not be a competition without its winners’ trophies. To quote “I went to a ball, I won. I got a trophy, and now everybody wants to play with me.”

For MCQP presents The Love Ball, three contemporary artists were selected to create trophies for the ball’s winners. Andre Karl van der Merwe , Phillip Tyers, Kobus Dippenaar were hand-picked to create the coveted prize-winning laurels.

Guests to arrive in a myriad of audacious outfits. “The dress code is whatever you feel best in, gowns, leather, togs or less-is-more. It’s a show biz game - anything goes!

Expect the fashion will be outrageous: ladies in glittering sequened bustier, jewel-encrusted sweatbands, men in floor-length gowns, drag queens in feathered rugby gear, heels bordering on stilts, towering wigs and scrumcaps, and suits & socks spanning the colour spectrum. Accessories will push the limit, with bedazzled eye patches, shimmering gum guards, shoulder pad studs, coloured contact lenses, leather harnesses, bare chests and boys in boots.

It will be a combination of music festival, circuit party, burlesque cabaret, drag variety show, circus, and Viennese ball with on-field antics, locker room language and sweaty Springboks.

A future with no more love, is no future at all.
