Service Design Network: Meet-and-Greet/Kickoff

SDN and City of Cape Town invite you to join in a Design Jam to explore how we can beat traffic congestion in our beautiful city. The Jam will be held on Nov 16th and there will be a meet and greet and Jam preparation session on Thursday, Nov 14th.

Jam's are fun, think of musicians bringing their instruments and jamming - just being inspired by each other and building on ideas. You can learn more about Jams here http://globaljams.org.

Background info:

Our roads are getting more congested as the city’s economy grows, and we attract more residents and visitors with all that Cape Town has to offer.

As the number of people wanting to travel in the busy peak periods increases, traffic slows down, making the weekday commute a potentially stressful and time-consuming part of the day. The steady decline in Cape Town’s rail service means that this efficient way of travel is no longer reliable or pleasant for many people. This has added even more traffic to the road network. The City of Cape Town has developed several responses to these challenges and invites residents and citizens to be part of the solution.

Join us on Thursday, 14 November 2019, for a meet-and-greet before the workshop on Saturday 16 November 2019.

The workshop will be facilitated by Lindsay Wicomb, Senior Professional Officer from the Organisational Effectiveness and Innovation Department (OE&I), City of Cape Town.
