Short&Sweet brings cinema to Hout Bay
As the days are getting longer and the nights balmier, the onset of summer is the perfect time for a spot of entertainment under the stars. Mainstream Mall and Fisherman’s World, home to an open-air Amphitheatre, is without a doubt the perfect spot for the first pop-up movie concept being introduced to Hout Bay this October.
However, don’t expect your typical rom-com or drama at the Mainstream Mall Movie month. The first month of the pop-up cinema in Hout Bay Introduces Short&Sweet, a short film experience that started in London in 2006 and has expanded to 6 cities across the globe.
Every Wednesday in October starting on the 9th you can expect a DIFFERENT selection of the finest short films, music videos and short animations from around the globe; Old films and new films from established directors to filmmakers completely undiscovered. The films are curated to take audiences on a journey, challenging opinions and creating conversation.
Mainstream Mall are taking it one step further by offering “dinner and a show”. Choose from one of the three restaurants at the mall - Simply select your dish and pre-order your dinner.
Ticket price: R60 per person, or R105 for a combo ticket (2 people).
Dinner price: R95 - Caffeine, Culture Cafe and Allegria offer a special dish with drinks specials only for ticket holders. (no takeaways, sit-down only)
Dates: 9, 16, 23, 30 October 2019
Times: Gate opens at 6:30pm, show starts at 7.30pm and ends at approx. 9.15pm.
Arrive early to get a good seat and enjoy all that's on offer for this special evening.

Terms & Conditions:Tickets are non-refundable. Open air cinema is weather reliant, and in the if rain comes down, we will need to postpone that evenings screening. Guests will be informed by midday that day with the postponed date or transfer you ticket to another Wednesday in October.
The short film medium has the power to ‘liberate, educate, connect and delight’. By creating immersive experiences, Short&Sweet allows audiences to become active participants rather than passive spectators.
