Our chef
Master Chef Lapo Magni from Lapo's Kitchen, former winner of the Italian version of Masterchef, has made quite a name for himself in the Cape Town food scene. Last year, together with The Climate Diet he revamped the iconic lamb bunny chow in a climate friendly version in the middle of the dried up Theewaterskloof Dam.
For the first Climate Dinner Series | Forest, he will combine his passion for food and sustainability in order to create a beautiful 3-Course Forest-Friendly Menu. This magic will take place in his beautiful afforested new venue in Newlands.
Why Forests?
An estimated 7.3 million hectares of forests are lost every year, which is equal to 27 soccer fields every minute. This permanent destruction of forests is happening worldwide to make the land available for other uses, with the main use being cattle ranching. Deforestation is considered to be one of the contributing factors to global climate change.
What can we personally do to prevent more destruction of forests happening? This dinner will inspire you through:
- Inspiring Speakers
- Eye Opening Screening
- Delicious Food
