Generation to generation. As leaders in the church we give of ourselves for the good of our churches and communities. However, the Gospel will long outlive our season of ministry. We must raise up sons and daughters who will carry the baton for their generation.  Over three days at Global 2019, we will consider the responsibility and opportunity that each generation has to spur on the next in their service of Gospel advance.

Tuesday 28 May

Social Justice Exposure Day

Skills Day

Wednesday 29 - Friday 31 May

Global Leadership Conference

Social Justice Exposure Day / 28 May / Venue: Jubilee Church, Observatory

Common Good is a non-profit founded by Common Ground Church in 2012. From small beginnings it has evolved into a significant player in the social justice sphere in Cape Town. The city has a legacy of separation, with many communities still living in the aftermath of the Apartheid era. The organisation focuses on early-childhood development, employment and education. Participants will visit various sites in the city. They will be exposed to the breadth of programs in operation, the unique challenges of the city and will have an opportunity to engage with the team leading Common Good.

Skills day / 28 May / Venue: Jubilee Church, Observatory

Advance will host a Skills Day, the day before the main conference starts on Tuesday 28 May. This day will consist of separate workshops, hosted by an expert in each field, and aims to bring ministry leaders from within the movement together for a time of sharing and strengthening. This year, workshops include: Admin & Ops, Youth & kids Ministry, Discipleship, small groups & pastoral care and Church planting. Each group will spend the day together, engaging on aspects of their ministry field.

Global Leadership Conference / 29-31 May / Venue: Jubilee Church, Observatory

The main conference runs from 08:00 on Wednesday 29 May - 21:00 on Friday 31 May. The event will be held at Jubilee Community Church, in the neighbourhood of Observatory, Cape Town. Expect great opportunities for connection and fellowship, generous times of worship and speakers from around the world.

Global 2019 is being hosted by Jubilee Community Church and Common Ground Church.

Internet access in South Africa?

The conference venues and all hotels will provide wi-fi access to guests. If you would like access to the internet on your mobile phone while in the country you can consider making use of the www.b4i.travel service. This allows you to pre-order a sim card which will give you access to South African mobile internet services. Just ensure that your phone complies with the technical requirements mentioned on their website.

Transport

We recommend either making use of Uber or renting a car. Uber access is ubiquitous in Cape Town, and if you are only making a couple of trips will be more convenient and cost effective. However if you plan on travelling around the city before and after the conference, or visiting some of the wine farms outside the city, renting a car is your best option. We recommend the First Car Rental company. The city does have a train line and MyCiti Bus Service, however these options are prone to delays and access is limited. Please note, South African's drive on the left hand side of the road.

Child care

Facilities will be available for feeding moms, and toddlers under 2 years old. However no supervision, or formal program for kids will be provided.
