ABOUT
A tradition of the annual BizNews Conference is a golf competition for the David Carte Memorial Trophy - named after one of South Africa's best financial journalists who, for decades, selflessly and courageously provided those he served with the content of the highest quality and with fierce independence. David and BizNews founder Alec Hogg spent more than half of their working lives together as colleagues on the Rand Daily Mail; Finance Week; the Sunday Times; and Moneyweb.
The field is limited to 40 players. Tee off is from 8:42am at Hermanus Golf Club, one of the best in South Africa. The competition is betterball stableford with a random draw for partners. This year's event is restricted to delegates attending BNC#7.
The cost of R1 200 per player covers green fees; sharing of a golf cart and food and drink at halfway house; and pizzas after the game. There will be a post-event prizegiving.
