Asanda Delihlazo
Born in King Williams Town in the Eastern Cape, Asanda is a folk songstress whose songs are rooted in traditional Xhosa rhythms and harmonies. She polished her musical talent as a thespian in musical theatre and also as a lead singer in church. Asanda has paved her way in musical theatre performing in a number of musicals such as Uhambo – The Journey, The Zulu Queen – Mkabayi ka Jama, Voices From The Fire and the internationally acclaimed Broadway hit musical SARAFINA! where she was one of the lead singers.
Tonight she performs with the Mara Lounge Jazz Band directed by pianist Sony Rodrique.
