Neurodiversity Webinar Series

Thu May 9, 19:00 - Thu May 23, 21:00

Event is online

ABOUT

This three part webinar series will take you through the fundamentals of a neurodevelopmental diagnosis. This webinar series is aimed at health care professionals supporting a child who is neurodiverse (as well as their system). It will be equally beneficial to educators and parents.

During the first session, the presenter, Juazel de Villiers will discuss the background to a neurodevelopmental diagnosis and the overlap of such diagnosis. She will discuss ADHD, ASD and other specific learning disorders. She will also refer to anxiety and depression in individuals presenting with such a diagnosis.

The second and third sessions will focus on information that the health care professional can provide to caregivers and educators on how to support neurodiverse individuals. The focus will be on classroom support (Session 2) and support in the home environment (Session 3).

Health care professionals, educators and parents will gain valuable insight and practical tips on how to better support neurodiverse individuals.

The sessions can be watched individually, although there will be a definite benefit for the health care professional in attending all three.
