After winning Best Script at the 2024 Zabalaza Festival, Extreme Lengths written and directed by Savannah Steyn, debuts again with its stellar cast to bring you laughter, tears and do-it-yourself mayhem.
Nawaal Adams (nominated for best supporting actress) and Franka Kirby’s (winner of best actress) performance seek to challenge perceptions of beauty and identity among young women of colour. The two-hander comedy is appropriate for all ages and delves into topics of uncertainty, cultural identity, and friendship.
“Minnie and Jo are at split ends with each other and have gotten themselves tangled up in a rather hairy situation. Curl up with the characters as they try to brush out their differences through snippy remarks that tug at each other's insecurities and begin to realise the extreme lengths one may go to fit in.”
The play is set in an all-girls high school dormitory and is relatable, funny and thought-provoking.
