ABOUT
Since times long forgotten, lovers have communicated through the language of flowers and the meanings conveyed by their colours: The genre for this year’s House Plays is that of a Romantic Comedy: a beloved genre of theatre where a ill-fated lovers are thwarted in their attempts to make their intentions known and seal love’s charm with the sweet First Kiss. A Romantic comedy is one of the most endearing types of theatre as it is always popular with all audiences.
RED: Barbet
Red flowers represent desire, strength, and passionate love. With beauty, courage and heat as its symbolism, it’s no surprise that a bouquet filled with rich, red blooms knows no restraint.
BLUE: Starling
The pale blue hues calm worries and preoccupation. Blue represents peace, openness, and serenity. Fresh floral arrangements filled with blue flowers offer a cooling antidote to anxiousness.
GREEN: Turaco
Synonymous with nature and the perfect complement to any other bloom, green flowers mean health, resilience, good fortune and youth. Whether used to throw together a diverse mixture of shapes and hues or as a restful tone-on-tone bouquet, green flowers send a message of optimism and renewal.
YELLOW: Weaver
Yellow flowers represent joy and lightheartedness. They are also a symbol of friendship, new beginnings, and happiness. There’s a good reason why it can feel all but impossible to refrain from smiling when you spot a bouquet of bright daffodils or a pot filled with sun-drenched chrysanthemums.
