Unmasking the Artist with MELOJANEY

Hello! My name is MeloJaney.I am aTheatre Major, Brand Strategist and my favorite (my calling) Singer Songwriter.  I was your typical girl with my Mom's couch decor as hair and the remote control in hand as a Mic…Yeah that girl! LOL. As a child I just loved music so much, that hasn’t changed. I am music. There is power and healing in music, there is a lot to give in music and a lot to receive.

Music has been a part of my life in every season. Amanda Cook from Bethel music, saved me in my dark days. Going through a breakup, my girl Jill Scott got me through it. When I had self - doubt, my girl Savannah Cristina held me through. Lebo Mathosa reminded me of the girl I think I am. Music is legendary! I pray my music will be a piece of art that is timeless and will inspire someone to try again and keep going. I’m passionate about the messaging and what music carries. It has brought healing into my life in many ways. I mean can you imagine a world with no music? 

I have started executing a long term plan, when it comes to my EP ALBUM PROJECT, simply titled  ‘Finally Me’. It is my first born with 3  powerful tracks. The name of my album is exactly what it means, ‘Finally Me.’ It’s been a long time coming to finally accept myself as I am, authentically and unapologetically. 

The Album is named after my single  ‘Finally Me’. There’s a line that says “God told me I am His”. The opinions of others isn’t my responsibility. That’s what Finally Me represents and more.

From being on the stage as Sarafina, to making it to the TOP 10 of South African IDOLS in 2013, later being signed and managed by Theo Kgosinkwe, working with Dj Maporisa and now choosing to be an independent artist, has truly been a rollercoaster of a journey.

I’m doing exactly what that little girl in the 90s

was dreaming about everyday in the living room... dancing and singing her little heart out. Expect love, fun, healing and quality of work when listening to Finally Me.

I am very proud of this project, super excited and truly blessed to share the gift in me with the world.
