ABOUT DAVID
David is an all-round sportsman who excels when in water, be it in the sea or pool. He has represented his province in Surfing, Lifesaving and Waterpolo, proving to be an all-round water man in his own right. However, surfing is his No 1 passion, and his recent achievement is exactly what he has been working towards for years. Surfing is in his blood, what with Dad Greg Emslie being an ex WCT stalwart, as well as Sister Taylor, cousins and uncles all participating. The coastal city of East London, and close by Glen Eden, where the Emslie’s have a holiday home, have nurtured David’s surfing over the years, by offering an ideal proving ground for all conditions.
Although kind and gentle, this does not hold David back in bigger surf. His recent result in Port Alfred was in really solid, double overhead and bigger conditions. He can also be seen charging reef in sizey conditions as part of his training, with his “go big or go home attitude”. David always has time to share the stoke, and help and inspire his peers, the local groms.
David attends Merrifield College, where despite his many sporting commitments, he maintains a high Academic level.
Please help David realise his dream of competing in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, by supporting this raffle. You stand a chance at winning some amazing prizes donated by our sponsors and our awesome community that surrounds him.
