We are embracing quality of life!

You are invited to an Art Exhibition and Fundraiser Auction, Orchestral Extravaganza, Ceramics, Food and Wine Celebration at the Kretschmann Gallery, on the joyous occasion of the 50th birthday of renowned Pretorian artist Christiaan Snyman.

In the spirit of gratitude and giving, a curated body of 10 works donated by collectors, artists and gallery will be auctioned to the benefit of Sungardens Hospice. Remember, on the other side of your purchase is a patient with a life-threatening illness receiving palliative care from Sungardens Hospice!

The Classical Orchestral Concert will include well-loved Opera Arias, Lieder, Songs from the Musicals and Songs from the Movies.

The orchestra will perform with a star-studded ensemble of well-known musicians like Annalien Ball (piano), Lara Babienco (violin), Berthine van Schoor (cello) and more…. We are honoured!

Christiaan will be joined by surprise guest artists, after which delectables will be served and the exhibition of ceramic work and paintings by Brindley Pritchard will be opened.

Most of our audience will know CHRISTIAAN SNYMAN as Bass-Baritone, performing regularly in Orchestral Concerts, recitals with piano, and even jazz band, but Christiaan has also done pottery for the last three and a half years, participated in group exhibitions with the Soab-box group, where he won a prize as best newcomer, and have done two solo exhibitions, of which one was with the Association of Arts in Pretoria.

He has now learned under a few well-known SA potters. He started his journey with Sharon Mitrie who opened the world of ceramics and taught him some foundational work especially on throwing and being meticulous. He then did courses with John Shirley and Michelle Legg in JHB and Anthony Shapiro in Cape Town.

Another turning point for him was working with the incredibly talented master potter, Lesley Ann Hoets on her farm in Sedgefield, who focuses on hand-building and fine decoration, with ancient design and raku firing. With her discipline and freedom to explore, Christiaan could discover new ideas and add new dynamics and refinement to his work. 

BRINDLEY PRITCHARD was born and raised outside Pretoria, as the son of a master sculptor, Tienie Pritchard.

Pro Arte School of Art is the place his love for painting began, studying further at the Pretoria Technikon. His expression flows best on a large scale. Always wearing his art on his sleeve, he tries to stay true to the original integrity of every work.

Brindley's brush finds many varied subjects. From figures to landscapes to interiors. Living right on the sea for 15 years inspired his many seascapes. Discovering a talent for teaching has been a joy and a blessing for him, because he loves to share his knowledge of art over the years.
