ABOUT

NCT presents a special performance of Innocence Lost on 18 August at 14:30

Innocence Lost is a play about a girl captivated by the false promises of a sex trafficker

NCT’s Innocence Lost play and educational theatre program aim to inform teenagers of the dangers of being trafficked, and how to recognise and deal with would-be traffickers. The play will have one special performance at NCT on Friday 18 August at 14:30 in our Inspiration (indoor) theatre and tour to schools in and around Gauteng from 7 - 25 August.

This educational theatre program demonstrates how education through theatre arts can help communities across South Africa engage with the challenging issue of stopping child trafficking, especially girl trafficking. Its priority is to raise awareness and share information about child trafficking, broadening the knowledge of students who may be unaffected by the many headlines they see on street poles and social media, and are therefore ignorant of the possible dangers.

Through the play we aim to educate all youth and to especially inform vulnerable youth to become aware of the horrors that result from being trafficked. After each show, we hold a robust Q&A, to give students the skills to recognise danger signs and advice on how to deal with them. Students learn to share this new information with their siblings, families and friends, so families and communities become better informed and commit to action.

Book now for NCT’s special performance on Friday, 18 August 2023 at 14:30 in our INDOOR Inspiration Theatre.
