Yes! It is finally time for your favourite museum festival, the annual youth-centric Aluta Nova Museum Festival and we are excited to announce that it is here and it is happening on June 3rd 2023 from 12pm - 10pm
Aluta Nova is a museum festival set on promoting and encouraging a museum-going culture amongst youth. It’s all about getting youth excited about the rich history and heritage of the iconic City of Johannesburg!
Museums are known as silent spaces of contemplation and learning - Aluta Nova breaks the silence by permeating the thick walls of heritage through the contemporary voices of youth. The festival brings the museum space to life through music, making learning more accessible and dynamic for young people.
This exciting programme will ignite the city through a fiery music lineup, museum walkabouts, thrilling tours on the historic 1952 London bus, food and makers market and fun art activities for the kids.
