The Allyship engagement will equip participants with proven strategies for applying CQ as an Ally, Unlocking The Power of Allyship. “Allyship” is defined as “using one's power or position to support or advocate for coworkers with less power or status,”


•      CQ Drive: Is the motivation needed to be an effective Ally:

- What are the benefits of Allyship to individuals and the organisation. - To be an effective Ally, takes:

      Persistence - being an ally in spite of difficulty or opposition.

     Self-efficacy having the belief confidence in ones capacity to be an effective Ally. ?

     Courage - mental or moral strength to say what needs to be said.


•      CQ Knowledge: Understanding ones Social Iden=ty and context and how to use it to be an effective Ally.

      Understand once Social Identity, and it’s relevance to Allyship.

      The impact of paying attention to the interplay between identity privilege and power.

      Understanding privilege and strategies to address it as an Ally.


•      CQ Strategy: The application of strategies to be an effective Ally.

      - Overcoming problem Blindness

      Problematise the normal to attach a stigma to it.

      How to Create Psychological Standing using perspective Taking

      What perspective Taking is and what it is not.

      How to improve Perspective taking

      Luck of bandwidth

      How to build trust as an Ally

•      CQ Action: Is the ability to adapt behaviour when the situation requires it (ask, Listen Advocate).

      Ask - Asking is about seeking first to understand. It’s about being courageous enough to go “one step deeper” with the people we interact with on a daily basis.

      Listen - As an ally one gains valuable insights and listening shows support and build stronger connections.

      Advocate (Small actions, big impact). What you actually DO as an Ally? Each participant will create their own personal ac=on plan.

 

This session will equip participants with proven strategies for applying CQ as an Ally. Our facilitation style is highly interactive and probing, we use stories, humour, multimedia presentations, and immersive exercises which enables participants to apply what they have learnt in the workshop into their day to day activities.
