ABOUT
The Welsh Male Voice Choir of South Africa, or, in Welsh, "Côr Meibion Cymru de Affrig", consists of amateur choristers led by a professional music team. We pride ourselves on offering a quality and entertaining cross-section of songs, including songs in the Welsh choral tradition. Each year, throughout the world, St David's Day is celebrated on 1st March to mark the day St David died in 589 AD. His remains are buried at St David’s Cathedral and his shrine became a place of pilgrimage in the Middle Ages.
Along with other Welsh Choirs around the world, we celebrate a musical performance of a prestige concert as close as possible to the 1st March. It is also traditional to showcase the musical talents of invited artists at these concerts, and we’re proud to announce that our concert programme will be graced by Adrian and Emma-Jean Galliard. This well-known duo are sure to add a special delight to the affair.
Our concert is booked to take place in the main auditorium of the New Day Church, 129 12th Avenue, Edenvale, Johannesburg on Saturday 4th March 2023, with guests to arrive 14h30 for 15h00. This is an exciting new venue for our choir, and we look forward to hosting you, our welcome guest, there, whether you already know you love Welsh Choir music or not.
