Join us on the 11 December, for the first of a monthly series of food and wine pairing events, at The Spirit and Wine Library with smooth afternoon beats, by Akum Agency, and curated dishes by People Who Grow.

The most valuable things these days are not things at all, they are experiences that move us from our normal, everyday state-of-being to a place that’s completely unique. As wanderers, our need to find awe-inspired moments that please our taste buds as much as our sense of discovery drives us forward. It’s the high road to delicious. It’s the scenic route to wow.

Let's talk FOOD! People Who Grow food is a non-profit organisation that works in the sustainability sphere with the focus on food, from seed to the final products. All fresh produce will be hand picked on the day with all additional menu items sourced from local suppliers. Each course has a unique story which will be paired with WINE, namely Stanford Hills Wines.

Stanford Hills is a family run business with award-winning, hand-crafted boutique wines. The somewhat basic cellar is located in one half of an airplane hangar on the farm. The owners believe in minimal interference during the winemaking process to allow the grapes to express their individual identity; Rose, Pinotage, Sauvignon Blanc & Chardonnay.

There is no scenic road to wow without the sound of the beat of the drum in the background. Akum Agency will set the atmosphere on the day with some blues on the decks by MsNiksta, followed by a live performance; Le Mpendulo, a young Ndebele woman born in the land of melodies, Mamelodi, Pretoria, South Africa. She can best be described as an Artist simply an artist.

iamsiwas is the DJ moniker of Jess White (Akum Agency) who has spent the last decade traveling the globe as an independent artist manager, booking agent, promoter and creative producer. iamsiwas has DJ’d some of Africa’s finest festivals from Sauti za Busara (Zanzibar), Bushfire Festival (Swaziland), Bayimba Festival (Uganda), Bassline Festival (South Africa), The Music In Africa ACCES Conference, Visa for Music (Morocco) and clubs from London, Melbourne, Johannesburg, Accra, Dakar, Maputo, Nairobi, Kampala and many more.
