The show is about pop as a culture that is somehow deemed inclusive. Loyiso takes you to his upbringing where Micheal Jackson was constant ambience music to being told at 35 years old to cancel Micheal Jackson from his iTunes playlist. He discusses how pop has an ability to oversimplify very complicated ideas, sometimes to the detriment of society. Growing up in in an unequal post apartheid South Africa, Notorious BIG is way more important to him than The Beatles. Without giving away a lot but Jesus is a reoccurring character in the show as Mr Gola deems him one of the most influential pop stars of all time. Gola admits many times in the show that he does not have the answers, but questions he has tons of. The jury is out on whether Loyiso is a fan pop culture but his exploration of the issue at hand are riveting.
