Eye's for Max

About

I adopted Max when he was 7 months old. He had a rough start to life, he was badly abused to the point that his back legs were badly injured.

Fortunately the doctor looked into his big beautiful eyes and did everything they could to help and he made a full recovery, waging his tail for the first time 2 months after I got him.

He has been living a fabulous life chasing birds, laying on the couch and playing with his favourite toys.

He is also the Alpha in the house. Whenever I have doggies visit, he is always first to greet and explain the rules of the house. He truly loves life.

At the age of 8, he developed problems with his back legs and had to have surgery. Once again this strong, handsome, brave boy made a full recovery.

Last year at the age of 9 he was attacked by two dogs that broke into my yard. After multiple stitched, arteries missed by shear millimeters and drainage tubes to help with the recovery. He proved again he is a champion and came through stronger.

7 Months later he was diagnosed with diabetes, we can only think was caused from the shock of the dog attack.

Unfortunately dogs with diabetes are predisposed to developing cataracts, with approximately 80% losing vision within the first year of diagnosis.

Max has now lost his vision because of cataracts. Seeing my lively boy confused and struggling is heartbreaking.

I took him to Dr. Christie Boucher, who is an eye specialist, who gave me the amazing news that she can can remove the cataract and Max with be able to see again.

This is where I am needing your help financially. The procedure is going to cost about R39 000. We have managed to get him an appointment for the 2nd November 2022 to get the procedure done.

Every little bit will help! I thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping my handsome boy see again, and get back to chasing birds in the yard.
