ABOUT

A common issue we encounter is that we have so many community members who would like to tie with another human, but do not have one in their lives who is willing and able to wade these waters with them. This event is an attempt to get you all in a room and hopefully spark some ropey connections. 


We will kick off with some introductions, and then break into smaller groups to discuss a few prompts from the organisers. These small group interactions will hopefully give you the opportunity to share your intentions with respect to exploring rope, but not be too overwhelming for the introverted amongst us. 


If you would like to stay in touch with someone you met at the event, you can write their name down for us and we will share their contact information if they agree to have it shared with you. This is a very small scene - if someone doesn’t want to be in contact with you, don’t make it weird for them if you see them at the next rope jam.

Respect is paramount. 


Additional information

  • The ticket includes access to the event and matching you with potential tying partners following the event. 
  • We will have rope, safety shears, suspension rings and rope balm for sale on the night. 
  • Ticket includes a glass of wine or water.

About your space-holders

Astrid (@desirelinesbondage) has been co-creating spaces for learning the ropes in Cape Town since 2016. She is a technically rigorous rope top who brings a wholesome, empathic flavour to her teaching. In 2021, she opened Embodiment Rope Space as a safe(r) venue for interested souls to explore the medium of rope.


Kay (aka @FaerieBunnyRope) has been following rope around on a journey for years. She found herself in Salt River, where the boundaries of who she thought she was were beautifully pushed into something amazing.

Faerie has found peace & creativity in self-tying that she hopes to bring to those around her. Her love of learning means she is in constant motion to understand those around her.
