ABOUT

Tickets to the event include welcome snacks, a meal (Burger and Chips - with veggie option available ??), lawn bowling, and some much needed financial support for our rehabilitation center.

Our event is family friendly, however participation in the games would be best from 10 years and up.

ABOUT THE GAME

Bowls, also called lawn bowls, outdoor game in which a ball (known as a bowl) is rolled toward a smaller stationary ball, called a jack. The object is to roll one’s bowls so that they come to rest nearer to the jack than those of an opponent; this is sometimes achieved by knocking aside an opponent’s bowl or the jack. A form of bowls was played in ancient Egypt, and by the Middle Ages the game was well known in continental Europe. The International Bowling Board, the ruling body of lawn bowls, was founded in 1905.

ABOUT FRIENDS OF FREE WILDLIFE

Friends of Free Wildlife is a community-based, public-funded volunteer organisation. It was founded in December 2015 by passionate and qualified wildlife rehabilitators with the best interest of our urban wildlife as a founding mandate.

Our vision is to create a well-respected, ethical wildlife rehabilitation centre that provides for the care of urban wildlife: that is, the rescue, rehabilitation and release of the animals that share our space.
