“Sing Us A Song” celebrates the power of music to bring communities together.

The festive season is upon us and there is no better time to share our own prosperity and joy with those not so far from home. Join us in supporting a trusted and meaningful cause by contributing to MathMoms’ “Sing Us A Song” project in 2022.

MathMoms is a women’s initiative based in Cape Town, South Africa, powered by nurturing love with a view to empower mothers and youth, while creating safe environments for children to learn and thrive in. 

A long time in the works, MathMoms’ 2022 musical project “Sing Us A Song”, in collaboration with the Swedish artist Julia Jonas, aims to provide all generations in the community a chance to come together and celebrate their collective talent and creativity with one unified goal at heart. Through the collaboration, communities in Elsies River, Cape Town, will be able to share their stories with communities across the world.

As part of the collaboration, a full song has been composed, lyrics were written by the group, and in 2022 members of the community will perform, record, and film a music video of the song. The lyrics and the music will tell a story close to the heart of the community: its determination, its diversity, and its hopes. The song will be uplifting, encouraging positive change and bringing shared moments of happiness.

Every single contribution will help us achieve our goal.

The estimated cost is R 40,000 (or 2400 €) to provide water, food and transport for participants, for the filming, editing, production, hiring of a recording studio and equipment, and for clothing for the dancers.
