Popularized in the 70s, the phrase ‘DISCO SUCKS’ sought to criticize the genre and its roots in QTBIPOC communities. The movement relied on intimidation tactics aimed at Black and queer communities which culminated in an event called ‘Disco Demolition Night’.
Join us in our reclamation of a slur and celebration of the communities who have and continue to influence disco.
