ABOUT

the first ever Cape Town Trumpet Summit brings together two generations of the city's finest trumpeters, the legendary Blackie Tempi and Darren English who are from two different communities and backgrounds. They team together with two upcoming trumpeters. Also featuring the upbeat samba and jazz outfit, the Hassan Adas band.

Blackie Tempi has been shaping South African jazz since the 70s.

Known for his stylish blend of rhythmic African music and American traditions, and his brilliant big band presence, he has headed crew such as Tandanani and The Brotherhood and recorded with the likes of Winston Mankunku and Errol Dyer.
