ABOUT

The Soweto Marathon 2021 has officially been canceled. In these tough times, preservation of life is key, we cannot ignore what unfolds before our eyes as the third wave of Covid-19 spreading like a wildfire, continues to maim our families, friends, and loved ones. Prevalent conditions of the Covid-19 third wave pose a threat to the well-being of the South African Nation.

After careful consideration and extensive consultation with relevant structures and stakeholders, we had no choice but to cancel The People's Race (Soweto Marathon) that was to take place on 7th November 2021 at the FNB Stadium in Nasrec, Soweto. 

Unfortunately, the race will not be staged in any other form or format this year.

The race office email will open again when entries open for 2022.

Join Panorama Running Club for yet another VirtReal Soweto Marathon. Let us end this year running through the streets of Soweto and remember all those who have fallen to COVID-19.

• Another year has come and gone.
• Many have lost loved ones.
• Many have suffered through unemployment.
• Families are suffering.

This will be a self-supported run unless there are groups that are willing to provide some support along the route. There are plenty of garages on the route so we should be good.
