ABOUT

On Saturday 16th October 2021, on the stage of the Mini Dome at the National School of the Arts in Braamfontein, an amazing group of South African jazz artists will gather to perform and celebrate the closing of Siphiwe Mhlambi's EXPRESSIONS Photographic Exhibition. A superb collection of Jazz images in black and white, documenting the vibrant South Africa music scene. The exhibition is still currently taking place at the FotoZA Gallery in Rosebank.

The artists featured during the concert, and who have all been the subject of some magnificent work by Siphiwe Mhlambi, include Mandla Mlangeni and Natalia Molebatsi, Billy Monama and Themba Mokoena, McCoy Mrubata, Ziza Muftic, Ayanda Sikade and Nduduzo Makhathini and Sipho Hotstix Mabuse.

The event doors open at 11.30, first set starts at 12.30 pm and the event will end around 8.30pm.

Secure parking and access for taxi and Uber drop offs is on Melle Street in Braamfontein (NSA sports field), accessible by car from Empire Road.

Due to the event taking pace on school grounds, there is no sale of alcohol allowed at the event, but ticket holders and guests are welcome and encouraged to bring their own wine, beer, spirits and soft drinks to the event. Only food, water and soft drinks will be available for sale at the event with a number of food stands available throughout the day.

Note that the event is taking place outdoors. A small exhibition gallery with images from Siphiwe Mhlambi's EXPRESSION exhibition will be set up on the side of the stage. Ticket holders are invited to bring a cushion if they wish to be more comfortable on stands.

All Covid protocols observed with temperature testing on arrival, and masks compulsory as well as distancing on stands.
