Expressive Movement : Halloween - Forest DRESS UP dance

Join us for a celebratory 'Halloween - Forest' themed DRESS UP dance at Namaskar. Rainbow Embodiment (Tonia) and Namaskar are collaborating to bring you a family friendly, fun filled Halloween themed event. All are welcome from 3 pm to browse and settle in. Children under 15 dance for free. The activities besides the dance are optional but included in the fee. If it were to rain, we will move the dance to the inside venue. The afternoons activities are:

-         Expressive movement dance session from 4/ 4;30 to 7 (in the usual format)

-         Prizes for best dressed adult and kiddo

-         Treasure hunt for the kiddos

-         'Forest of fear' experience for the whole family

-         Trick or treats

-         Vegan, vegetarian and meat dishes

-         Crafts and Face painting

-         Tarot and magic

-         Assortment of vendors

Origins of Halloween

The origin of our Western holiday known as Halloween is found in the ancient Celtic festival, Samhain. From present-day Ireland to the United Kingdom to Bretagne (Brittany), France, the ancient Celts marked this as one of their four most important festival quarter days of the year. Samhain commenced on the eve of October 31st, and ushered in the Celtic New Year on November 1st. The Celts experienced this as a liminal (threshold) period when the normally strict boundaries between different dimensions and between the worlds of the living and the dead became mutable. On the eve of Samhain, they believed the veil between the two realms was the most transparent, allowing the spirits of those who have died to return to visit earth and allowing for greater communication with the spirit realm.

Join us as we celebrate this auspicious occasion together and come and have some fun with the whole family! 

No dance experience necessary, dress comfortably, bring something warm to wear and a blanket for afterwards.
