ABOUT

Bongani is a composer, arranger , chromatic marimba and vibraphone player, is an household name celebrated home and abroad wowed. His mastery on these instruments have earned him collaborations with world renowned vibraphonists like Stephon Harris (New York), Pascal Schumacher (Belgium), Magda de Vries (a classical Marimba player, Brubeck Brothers, Morris Goldberg, Willie Van Zyl Haubrich, Dave Reynolds, Buddy Wells , McCoy Mrubatha, professor Mike Campbell ( jazz saxophonist and lecturer at UCT). He is currently working and touring with JAV ( Jozéfinn Austral View ) a Jazz / world music collaboration of four Indian Ocean countries namely South Africa, Reunion Island , Madagascar and Mozambique. Bongani's latest album released in 2020 titled Bongani Sotshononda’s Indigenous Orchestra live in Cape Town has so far been very well received.
