Be still, my soul

ABOUT

For most of us it has been quite a rough year, and it certainly has been devoid of any live entertainment. Hopefully, if the stars align, we will be able to remedy that situation the 28th and 29th of August!

We have a bumper program of dramatic pieces such as Beethoven's "The hunt" and Schubert's "Erlkonig". Headlining the concert will be the incomparable Eugene Joubert who will be playing Chopin's Berceuse and, in his signature style, a transcription of "Love walked in" arranged by Grainger. Janette Rottcher will be playing some fiendish Rachmaninov, and together with Tobias Kruger, in perhaps a world premier, (certainly a Laeveld one!), "Tokkatina-Fuga en variasies op Bobbejaan klim die berg". A few other delights will also be on offer, so come and listen!

The Nocoré Ensemble and Walter Fourie will be performing vocal pieces between all the piano works, including Be still, my soul, which is a vocal arrangement of the famous Finlandia of Sebelius.

The concert will be held in accordance to national lockdown regulations, and attendance will be limited to the level allowed at that point. NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE DOOR.
