Walk through the basic steps to plan effective anti-racist lessons using the workbook.

Session 4- Classroom Management Teaching Strategies and Assessment.

Learn how to manage the classroom through an anti-racist lens and adopt inclusive assessment techniques.


The cost is R1,200 per person or R10,000 per school. School registrations will receive additional information about how to register staff members upon completing the ticket purchase.

Sak'izwe Now in partnership with WeTransform DEI LLC present a four part anti-racism learning series entitled: What Does it Mean to be an Anti-Racist Teacher/Principal in South Africa?


This four part webinar series focuses on anti-racism teaching and learning strategies in schools, classrooms and the education sector. The sessions will be presented by Mr. Njabulo Mkize and Dr. Warren Chalklen who have experience co-hosting anti-racism workshops together in the United States. This series focuses on the South African educational context. Each virtual session will have a presentation and an opportunity for questions and answers. An anti-racism workbook, Anti-Racist Teaching Practices and Learning Strategies will be distributed via email to all attendees as a resource for each session.


The Facilitators:


Dr. Warren Chalklen is a Wits, Texas A&M University and Harvard certificate program graduate who passionately works for equity and social justice through education, advocacy, and cross cultural dialogue. His personal experience growing up in a mixed race family in racially segregated South Africa shapes how he sees and experiences the world. In his current role he trains doctors and nurses in anti-racist practices across the United States. His website is https://warrenchalklen.com/


Mr Njabulo Mkize is a History and English teacher who also runs an Anti-Racism organisation named Sak'izwe Now. The impact of Apartheid on his family, in particular the death by hanging of his paternal grandfather, has influenced the work he does to conscientize. Currently teaching at a high school in Soweto.
