Zoe's Cancer Fund

About

Zoe was diagnosed with having stage 4 cervical cancer in 2017, after an intense double surgery 6 weeks apart and 13 weeks of being bedridden, we really thought that we had beaten this thing called cancer. July 2020 in the midst of a world epidemic we found out that "the cancer" had returned. Our medical aid at this time would not cover the cost for the much-required medical treatment which cost a whopping R284847.00.

As we could not raise the total funds needed for private care, Zoe had the balance and most important part of her treatment done at Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital. To our surprise, it was the best experience ever, apart from having to wait your turn and having to leave home at 5 am to be first in line. The doctors and nursing staff were of the best you can find, the only setback was seeing how the other ladies would struggle without support or necessary means of just getting to the hospital for their treatment.

Zoe also met some interesting ladies, who all had their own stories to tell about their walk with cervical cancer. She got personally involved with wanting to help them with basic things like transport to and from the hospital, getting them much-needed medication, and just being a friend to talk to when the pain got worse or if they needed any help.

Some ladies made it, and sadly some did not even make it through the treatment.

Zoe is in full remission and healthy now but the need to help others who are going through the same has had a lasting effect. Help with basic things like covering the transport cost, having food in the house while you are unable to work, and getting the best referrals and recommendation is just a little to give back towards an unwanted cancer.

Cervical cancer is treatable if found early, most ladies contract it without even knowing and years later are left to face it on their own.

Our challenge to you, and in the spirit of giving,

if you can, please donate any amount using the Quicket App or website. these funds will be used to help ladies in need of support who do not know of or have the means of finding the help that they seek.

A portion of all our sales at Syndicate Cafe go towards this fund, you can help us to help others who just have a need to live a cancer-free life, by giving a small amount monthly or once-off.

for the rest, we will trust God for a breakthrough.

God Bless & Thank you
