ABOUT

Originally from Willowvale in Eastern Cape, Zine grew up in Imizamo Yethu, Hout Bay. Her gift for singing and performing was spotted from an early age and as part of the Hout Bay Music Project she travelled to the Netherlands where she took a leading vocal role in their performances with Andre Rieu, and has won awards including the Cape Town School Jazz Festival. After matriculating, Zine won a sponsored place at Waterfront Theatre School, where she graduated with a diploma in Musical Theatre in 2018. She has acted and sung in several productions at Artscape and Oude Libertas, is lead soprano and a founding member of the Ingoma Choir, and during the day works as an arts & music teacher at Silikamva High School, helping other young people to shine their light. She was getting through advanced auditions for Disney's European touring production of The Lion King, when the pandemic struck.

This will be Zine's second solo concert where she will perform a mix of cover songs and some of her own compositions, mainly a mix of jazz and pop, accompanied by keyboard.

Tickets are R150. Thinking of starting the concert at 7. On the 28 May 2021.
