Knowledge Sharing Workshop

Sat Mar 27, 09:00 - Sat Mar 27, 15:30

District Six Museum Homecoming Centre

ABOUT

The City, in partnership with the District Six Museum, invites you to participate in the See Knowledge Sharing Workshop.

See is a transnational project which brings together cities, institutions, activists, artists, designers, and other creatives to exchange ideas, debate and develop methodologies to bring about representational equity in the public life of our cities. See engages individuals and institutions in Cape Town and internationally in order to move scholarly information in archives and museums, and dialogues that have emerged out of recent social justice struggles, into the mainstream. We wish to expand and rescript the current discourse and narratives in order to move Cape Town from a colonial city into an equitable and celebrated multicultural future.

We will address the following questions during the See Knowledge Sharing Workshop:

1. How can history help us to shape more inclusive futures?

2. What role can creativity play in the democracy making process?

3. How may the work of artists, designers, architects and other creatives help us to imagine more equitable urban futures?
