Jazz is back with a whole new swing. Ovcorp Media & Entertainment has embarked on staging local jazz artists for the last 3 years in boutique and exciting venues. We started out as Jazz on Bree inside the iconic Young Blood Art Gallery in Bree Street Cape Town and later moved on to the artsy Radisson Red Hotel on the V&A Waterfront.
The creator of this exciting concept Esra Overberg (curator) is relentless in his journey to stage jazz artists on niche stages in and around Cape Town. He was successful with 30 bands over 3 years and our foreign visitors got a true taste of the local sounds.
Covid-19 cancelled much of what was planned for 2020 but this did not deter the team to get creative and mobilize. Ovcorp together with The Grand Daddy Hotel has agreed and joined forces to host "Jazz on the Roof" as early as 29 January 2021 this will also have a live stream element attached for those who rather want to view it in the safety of their homes.
We will be kicking off with a legend that will be announced shortly, for now book your tickets and get your rooftop seat. We chose this venue as its outdoor and can only accommodate 60 patrons with safe social distancing protocols.
